Some magic requires elements to act in certain roles. An envoy, a path, a handsel, for example. The spell to release one from an enchantment used instructions, tools, and action. I am working on a reduction that just uses the instructions, but at the moment, the spell works best when I have all three items.

As for kissing specifically, that was the catalyst to break a spell when I first devised this magic. I simply haven't gotten around to changing it.
