Uh... Hi? [Yuya clears his throat.] I'm Yuya Sakaki. I'm going to be part of the carnival for a while, as an acrobat!

[His enthusiasm falls a little flat, but it's nothing against the Carnival.] Speaking of that--are we really performing in two days? Is anyone else going to stay up to practice?

Of course I have! [He scoffs.] I've just never seen them do anything.

[Except stop him from getting on the duel field to see Sora that one time. But what good were they when Academia attacked!!] And the ones in the Synchro Dimension were different.

The task of those who patrol the Carnival grounds is to make sure they don't have to do anything.

We warn potential trouble makers before anything occurs, in other words. [Patches are a little more obvious in that role, but really, in Gongenzaka's opinion, the best shift is a shift where he doesn't have to break out a threat to escort someone out.]

The Carnival is more than just the tent after all; there are many game stands, and concessions, and sales booths...there is a lot of risk that someone might attempt theft, or find themselves starting a small fight.

[He frowns.] ....Though, here in particular, those 'fights' become a matter of being asked to take it to an open space, while finding excuses to not simply join in...

So it's petty stuff, right? [Not like army invasions.] Have you had to do any of that?

Aah, for the most part.

[COUGHVampireWarCOUGH] While here at least, I, the man Gongenzaka, have had to bring a few to the gate limits to keep them from attempting to 'capture' other employees...

[Why this is an issue is a mystery.

Wait--"capture"? Like kidnapping? Who's doing that?! [You said he was going to like this place!]

N-No, quite different..!! [Ahhh how to exp- wait he knows exactly how to explain this.]

You see, the location we are visiting right now, they have...a unique relationship with the wildlife. [And to explain further, he reaches around to his side, where he's been keeping a small pouch. Out comes a very shiny, very red 'ball', which he drops to the ground.] ...which are bound using these.

[What comes out resembles a strange pink bulldog. It gives a tiny yawn, and shakes itself, before peering toward Yuuya to give a curious sniff.] ...Snuh?

This is Suzu-chan! I, the man Gongenzaka, have taken her in myself! However, in order to make that 'official', it was required to bind her to this. [he holds up the ball.

And then coughs.] ....As...you can imagine however, to a world of only humans and creatures such as this.... ...those such as I, the man Gongenzaka, cause them to think of...such creatures...

[Don't even ask how many pokeballs he has been pelted with IT IS TOO MANY.]

Unique--[He steps back at the flash of light and stares at the Snubbull. That--] It's not a dog?

[He eyes the Pokeball before kneeling in front of Suzu. Nope, definitely not a dog you'd find in Maiami. Still, he reaches his hand out.] They're still like pets, right? If they're normal, shouldn't the people here be able to tell you're not the same?

Mmmm...technically, she is a 'Fairy Dog', but...

[Well, for starters, Suzu is standing on two legs. For another, she's now crossing her arms, apparently insulted. HUFF!] They're far more diverse than that..! If anything, I, the man Gongenzaka, would say that some of them could be duel monsters themselves!

...Regardless, there are certain species capable of speech, so talking isn't enough to change their view. Particularly not with so many 'humanoid' types.

More like duel monsters, huh... [Aw... Yuya reaches to scratch behind her ears to placate her. No offense meant Suzu.] But it's better to duel with cards you have a bond with. Just trying to take people or--these things doesn't sound right.

[otoko]

....The theory is that if the pokemon doesn't wish for a bond to occur, then the ball will not contain them...but, just as there are duelists who do not understand the cards after all, there are 'trainers' who persist in trying.

[He snorts.] Typically, I, the man Gongenzaka, find that their minds change once we pass the gates back into their own realm.

[Mostly because the glamor kicks in and suddenly he looks Very Human again.]

[He wrinkles his nose a bit at "their realm". He's already been told about the world crossing and that they aren't the four dimensions, but that's still a lot to take in that there are who knows how many worlds out there--but at least they aren't worlds with people who share his face.]

What happens when you pass the gates?

The glamor turns on.

[Uh?] 'Alola' is a world unfamiliar with magic-it's fairly similar to ours, if you can imagine one with living 'monsters' instead of duel monsters...if anything, I, the man Gongenzaka, would even say it is more peaceful!!

However, that does not change the fact that they are ununsed to humans resembling anything....'inhuman', [he adds, coughing.] So, those of us working with the Carnival appear as human to those beyond the gates, provided we as well are there.

...Though... [he frowns at Suzu.] I, the man Gongenzaka, suspect certain pokemon have been able to see through it...

Sort of like a hologram, right? [Except magic instead of technology, but he gets the basic premise.

Yuya smile and gives Suzu a pat on the head.] Is that why she picked you?

[otoko]

Hah! As best as I, the man Gongenzaka can assume...that would be the case!

[he laughs, and then sighs.] Do you think you will be able to make time to visit 'Alola' yourself before practice begins, Yuuya?

[Yuya taps his chin, looking thoughtful.] If I want everyone to have fun, I should know who my audience is. I can take a look around and then come back and practice for the show.

[otoko]

Hmm! In that case, I, the man Gongenzaka, shall show you the way! [his friend laughs, albeit only to cut himself short with a cough.] Auh- A...After you've settled into your trailer, of course...

I, the man Gongenzaka, am assuming you have yet to do that...

Uh--no, but I didn't bring anything else with me anyway! I can check that out later.

Hmmmm, I suppose so...

[Well, enough about that, let's go!] Sahh, well-let us head for the gates then!

Yeah! [He jumps back to his feet with a grin. To the gate!]

[To the gate indeed-though he'll take a moment to put Suzu back in the pokeball as they go. The gate is a bit of a walk away-they've certainly got time to talk on the way there...but once they get there, they'll exit into what feels like the tropics. Warm, sunny...

...Gongenzaka should still look like a weird dog thing to Yuuya though, ah well.]

[Is the glamor working?? He can't tell. He's going to assume it is, if Gongenzaka doesn't start panicking about being a visible... whatever he is now.
