Aaand a good mornin' ta everyone! Good job for all ya new faces. Sounds like there were a few mistakes here and there, a little bit of trouble, but it looks all cleared up ta me! Like I said- good job. Knew ya could do it. That wasn't so bad, was it?

Now, there is some bad news, and it's that Zaka got egg all over the place for a while there. The good news! Zaka's back! And Gil has buggered off ta who knows where, so no worries about R-rated things comin' over the radio for a while yet!

I'd say all that deserves a celebration, don't ya agree?

Koel willin', I'm thinkin' of whippin' up a little celebration dinner for everyone in the cookhouse. Nothin' grand, but what do ya think?

[Easier to understand and easier to say, so a win for everyone, as far as Joker is concerned. Stepping into the kitchen, Joker glances around to not see Koel around- maybe she’s stopping by her trailer- and goes straight for pen and paper that he can spy on the kitchen counters.]

Ha, more like I’m gettin’ her ta just move us all ta another world without all the fuss of normally movin’! [Pausing for a second, he taps the pen against the empty t-shirt sleeve at his right side.] We’re all like this one way or another- missin’ limbs or some other thing. Back in my England, it ain’t easy for us, so I’d like us ta find somewhere where it is. Ha, but unfortunately that means I gotta do a contract for each person in my family, and we ain’t a small one!

[Laughing, he finishes the note to Koel or any other cooks that might find it and sets down the pen.]

Three sisters and four brothers, so I’ll be here for a while. But enough about me- mind fetchin’ some mixin’ bowls? I promised Tamaki I’d make him a nice dessert, heh.

[ Well, that's not what Mitsuki was expecting. Bringing seven more people into the carnival... that's ambitious. No wonder Joker's so determined to keep his job. He needs it! ]

That's a big family! You're really generous to do all that for them, but I know if it were my brother I'd do just about anything to get him somewhere better. And... the Ringmaster's pretty kind, too, to let you do the work on their behalf.

[ There was a big recruitment crush on, after all. She could've scooped them up too, or tried to. If they love Joker even half as much as he loves them, Mitsuki's sure they'd do it in a heartbeat.

He starts opening cabinets, on the hunt for bowls. ]

Did you have anything in mind? He loves pudding, but he probably told you that.

[ Tamaki has no limits where pudding is concerned. ]

Yeah, she can be, heh.

[When it suits her, or even when she means it. It’s just that… Joker has learned that what the Ringmaster thinks is kind can be a pretty tricky thing.]

[But, in a way, he hopes kids like Mitsuki and Tamaki don’t learn about that kind of thing. Just a nice, innocent year of work. It’s a lot to ask for, but, hey, a guy can dream, can’t he?]

Do ya think ya can get ta makin’ that, then? Since yer friends, ya know what he likes best. And I can start gettin’ on with some of the side dishes!

[Finishing his note, he bounces over to their large and impressive pantry, which is half interesting and half moderately frightening at times.]

[ Mitsuki picks up on Joker's tone but, well, he knows the Ringmaster a lot better than Mitsuki does, so it's no wonder he's seen her be less than kind. Mitsuki's still holding a pretty favorable impression of her but it's from a distance. He's not sure what she'd be like up close. ]

Of course! I'm going to need sugar, salt, corn...starch...

[ It's Mitsuki's first look at the pantry, and it's amazing. If real life star eyes were a thing, that's what Joker would be seeing. ]

... Wow.

Hm?

[Turning around from where he’s getting a few things, he pauses as he sees what’s got his attention and Joker chuckles.]

Ah, right- ya probably wouldn’t have come inta the kitchens before now, huh?

[otokogi]

Uhm, nope. I wasn't sure if I was allowed [and Koel is not a woman he wants to cross ] but I always figured it'd be pretty standard stuff. And it is! But there's a lot of other things here, too...

[ Mitsuki picks up a couple of packages and turns them over in his hands. Is this even food? Well, Joker had said the pantry would hold some strange things. He puts the unfamiliar back in favor of what he knows he needs, but he opts for a jar containing what he hopes are real vanilla beans in place of extract. ]

Y’know, Koel is always lookin’ for folks who know how ta cook. I bet she’d be glad ta teach ya how ta use the interestin’ stuff, if ya ever asked her.

[And as for Joker, he’ll just get to work himself, plucking a few things out. Good thing wooden fingers are sturdy.]

[ It's not hard for Mitsuki to get back on task, hunting up measuring cups and a cutting board for the vanilla bean, but he pauses to consider Joker's words. ]

I'm mostly a baker, but if she really needs an extra set of hands I'd be happy to help. Maybe I'll talk to her... I wouldn't let it interfere with my own responsibilities, though!

Ha, don’t worry. I'm not fussed about that.

{Working rather adeptly with his own tools for all that he’s one handed, Joker chuckles.]

Both of ya- Tamaki and yerself- I have ta say that yer some of my hardest workin’ performers I’ve had the pleasure of workin’ with in a while.

[ Oh, well. Mitsuki just about puffs up with pride at that. Congratulations, Joker, you have leveled up again in his esteem. When he answers, though, it's more thoughtful than anything. ]

I think it's because it's what we're used to. Not quite like this or anything but we've both been professional performers for a while. It's familiar even when nothing else really is. I'll tell Tamaki, though, he'll be really happy you think that!

[ As if he himself somehow isn't also very pleased... ]
