Hey, as regards the timeline, there's really only two options. Either nothing changes, or you bifurcate the timeline and create a parallel one. Besides that, you can't objectively say for any certainty that you two are from the same timeline -- there are thousands, maybe millions of Earths out there, and any number of them have what basically amounts to the same history.
