Day 167 or so
Does anyone know what will become of our daemons when the Carnival leaves?
[There is a thread of anxiousness in Blue's usually calm tone.]

Regardless... [He may have been listening to all this a bit...] ....If you are alive, and existing however, you do indeed have a soul. The human definition of it.... ...it varies, quite considerably, between cultures.
For many however, it is not what survives after death. Rather, it is that which defines your conscious being and seat of emotion! It is, in that sense, your very essence of life without the solid form.
[Marishi adds a bit, since it feels like some clarification could be good.] ...This is of course, not to say that it is without solid form...most typically, it cannot exist without your body after all! That was why so many were uncomfortable with our 'daemons' here, I believe...

[And by the sound of it, being stuffed in a category with walking meatsacks that don't last more than 90 years isn't something she quite approves of. It's definitely an admonishment, however gently done.]
The entirety of the universe, or indeed the multiverse, is not likely to fit into your expectations based on your experiences on your own world and a handful of other Earthlike places. Thank you for your effort at comfort and explanation, however.

If it were only human-like species, or residents of earth-like places, that in itself would be rather closeminded wouldn't it?
If you truly feel you do not have a soul, then I, the man Gongenzaka, can respect that, but...
Just what do you view of your daemon in that case then, we wonder?
no subject
Long experience teaches me human-like species are the exceptions in the greater universe, not the rule. Simply presuming otherwise against fact and science would be foolish, would it not?
She is, of course, another Blue Diamond. While it is not something we ourselves in the Authority have succeeded at yet, it is not impossible. Having the companionship of another Blue Diamond is ...
[Whatever she was going to say doesn't get said, she just trails off into sad uncertainty again.]

Arguing over this in itself is foolhardy however-what is important is that you should, almost certainly, be able to request the spell be re-cast by the Ringmaster.
Either that, or learn to perform it upon your own self.

What techniques did she teach you? Very little seems to be without a cost here, what did you pay?
no subject
[There is a cough, and very faintly can be heard a mutter from Gongenzaka to drop it, they have more important matters at hand.]
Regarding magic, I, the man Gongenzaka, did not pay anything...
[Indeed, it seems to very much be according to the sort of reputation you build with her. Literal Karma Points, practically.]
Rather, I, the man Gongenzaka, merely asked for guidance. At this time, I have been practicing to gather my personal energy-with it, I, the man Gongenzaka, am able to locate others by the feel of their spirit and energy, as well as walk upon surfaces that could typically not be stood upon.
no subject
[And that is outright frosty annoyance, followed by a brief static-pop of the 'send' button being shut off.
It takes a few minutes before anything's said again.]
Was she able to assist?
no subject
There is no doubt in my mind that she will likely insist you learn to perform the spell yourself...but with determination, and dedication, you could certainly make certain a separation of any sort is brief!
[And now, freed of the vines-] ...Human standard brief, for that matter.
no subject
[This is not a unit of measure she recalls encountering.]
no subject
Mmmh-I, the man Gongenzaka, should say a few weeks, to a month, depending on one's focus.
no subject
[But ... still such a long time to be alone again..]
no subject
...Depending on how the spell is performed, I, the man Gongenzaka, would at the least gladly offer assistance in practicing it.
no subject
[By how quietly it's said, perhaps she's merely musing aloud, and not really looking for an answer.]
It is worth asking after, at the least. Magic of that sort is strange to me. Assistance would of course be appreciated.
no subject
But that is wonderful-should you begin practicing it then, you need only say the word, and I, the man Gongenzaka, shall offer any assistance I can.
