Victor Nikiforov, new showman here. I have a question for anyone who has a few minutes to talk!
( There's a smile in his voice; entirely deliberate, and entirely gone once he gets to his question. )
What things do you wish you'd been told about or known from early on once you started working here?

How quickly does this work?

I guess it depends? Anywhere from like... instantaneous to over the course of a week.

Great. Is this generally permanent or temporary?

I can only speak fer the kind of brainwashin' the fae called the Prince did... but his WOULD be permanent if the Ringmaster and the spellbreakers hadn't had their say about it. Sometimes it just wears off.

I... Okay then. Who's the Prince relative to all the rest of this?
no subject
I'm sorry!! I keep sayin' shit like you know, or understand! The Prince is an ex-fae of the Wyld type, like the Ringmaster. She killed his ass dead and took his special macguffin, the Blue Rose. He was an ass and totally deserved it.

He ends up laughing with the radio not transmitting, because he feels ridiculous latching onto all these things and asking for clarification, but there's too much he doesn't know. Victor takes risks in his own context: but outside of it, he likes to know the factors weighing in before he makes rash decisions. Especially now, when he wants to return home safe and sound. )
Wait, wait, I was almost following along for a moment. How does one become an ex-Fae? What are the Wyld type, and is that in contrast to the two courts you've mentioned? And... what in the world is this Blue Rose?
( Look, he had a flower crown of Blue Roses from a fan before, and is rather fond of them for symbolism and the like, but he doesn't know if this is literal or a name for some big Fae ??? Magic ??? Something or another.
He considers being bothered by killed his ass dead, but he wasn't here, has no idea what the standing was, and considering the mention of possibly permanent brainwashing from moments earlier, isn't going to say a word. It's not his business, except that in the aftermath and being tied to the carnival run by the one who had indeed killed the ex-Fae, it also, apparently, is.

Ex-fae. As in... ex-alive. Dead. I was just being cute! [sheesh] Wyld fae are... well, they're not members of either court, and they kind of do their own thing, s'far as I can tell. The Blue Rose is some stupidly powerful fae artifact. I can't tell you anything else about it cause I don't know. I assume it can be used as some sorta weapon, or somethin', or else we wouldn't'a gone through all the trouble of stealin' it.
[welcome to a HOT FUCKIN MESS, victor]

Or something.
( why all of this. what movie or television series plot did he just walk into. surely that'd make more sense than this being his real life for the time being. )
Do the courts and the Wyld fae happen to know the carnival made off with this Blue Rose?
no subject
Mmm... that's a good question. I ain't sure, but we did make a big mess on the way out. I don't 'spect it went unnoticed.
no subject
( Hahahahaha oh, joy. )
Is there anyone else you'd suggest I might be able to talk with if I want to better understand the encounters the carnival has had in recent times with the various... I'm not sure what word works best, so factions, of the fae?
no subject
[Hmmm.. Who would be the best person to ask...]
John Childermass. He's head of acquisitions and knows a lot about fae matters. Jonathan Strange does too, but he's kind of a doofus. I think they're from the same world and that world's got lots of faerie bullshit goin on. The warden, Sans, has also been here a while... but gettin' straight answers out of him can be a challenge.
no subject
When he sees about the books, he'll try asking John. Jonathan he'll ask when they're out looking for the candy stores. Sans he'll have to introduce himself to; regardless of what he does or doesn't learn, it's still important. He should know who he's working with, and security, or anything like it, is something to be aware of one way or another. )
Thank you! I'll see about catching them each for a chat when the time and schedules allow.
