May I ask a favor? If anyone spots a chicken wandering around the carnival or Wismuth, please return said chicken to me. [ pause. ] Or the Ringmaster. Come to think of it, it would probably be better if the chicken was returned to the Ringmaster in the first place.

[ it's after Strange comes down from his high and stops having existential thoughts about the nature of hands that he actually makes this post...which means that there's plenty of time for your character to have run into said chicken. ]

Yes, normally butchers do have a select amount of suppliers but if I was a butcher in this city, where chickens don't wander around like our old towns, and I saw a chicken wandering around my establishment, I might wonder if that was one of mine.

Then again, any could've just snatched a free chicken dinner.

Well then you'd check it before, erm, butchering the poor thing. After all, you wouldn't want to murder someone else's chicken, that's a potential lawsuit already.

This city is surprisingly clean and with a lack of anyone on the streets living wise. You might get lucky. Is your chicken at least tagged? If not then there is no proof it is yours.

Though I am suppose to resupply chicken for the carnival. It would be one less chicken I'd have to con my way through or pay for.

Truth be told, the chicken's more of his own than he is mine. I'm just trying to find him.

And if the carnival wants chickens, they can go to that...that 'supercenter' and buy some themselves. [ the phrase supercenter is said like it's a foreign term (because what the hell is a Wal-Mart anyway) ]
