[Honestly, it isn't his fault he doesn't have hammer space or fancy magic to use for hiding stuff. Tyki didn't have to suggest he should contribute some other way like he had something to make up for when the topic of assuring the rest of the Carnival that the situation was under control came up; any one of them could have done that! But in the end there wasn't a graceful way to weasel out of it, so here Shima is, sighing and clicking his radio on to the public channel once they'd made it back to camp and had some rest.

The aggressive cheer in his voice poorly disguises the put upon tone to his announcement.]

Shima again. I'm sure some of ya've been wondering what's been up with that fae that our last team captured 'n got the Ringmaster ta eat. Well, good news, she's fine now 'n the eating was temporary.

Iggy-san is doing less hot, but he's alive 'n we've got him inside, uh... I guess it was a beach moon? Not sure how that works. But yeah, for whatever reason, since I fit the Ringmaster's criteria for a person suitable ta bring along for a chat with him, here's a first hand account that his powers have been stripped and he's successfully contained 'n not leaving the Carnival for a while.

Take a sigh of relief, or brace yourselves. Whichever!

I don't think it's the 'ranks stuff', more of the Wyld Fae stuff. I simply couldn't think of a good way to explain it. [ but Strange knows this is just going to go into jargon, so he shifts the topic a bit. ]

I suppose what matters is that he was willing to talk in the first place. [ pause, before, ] Did anybody else see him or was it just the Ringmaster and you?

It'd be pretty weird if it were just me, I've only been here like two months. I got permission ta give everybody an update but I'm not sure if anybody else is gonna speak up about seeing him.

[ That's a whole lot of words that don't tell him all that much, so Strange takes a moment to parse through what Shima's saying. ]

I have also seen him and all you need to know are that he's miserable but alive and that I will oppose any motion you make to be allowed to visit him.

[ Not that it'll matter much if the Ringmaster allows it, it's just he'll lodge complaints and prepare for the possible 'I told you so' scenario later. ]

Of course he's miserable, [ Strange grumbles, almost under his breath. Is he the only person who's remembering the whole 'got tortured' thing, no shit Ignatius is miserable! Stop pointing out the obvious!

And then, full voice, ] I've already plead my case to the Ringmaster. If you want to add in your opinion, bother her.

I'll be sure to include how you've already assaulted a member of the carnival for withholding information along with it.

[ Could be that Childermass literally doesn't care about Ignatius or how Ignatius feels. No shock there. ]

Which, I might add, should I hear about you ever doing again, to anyone else, that I will drop into a shadow and leave you there.

When did I assault someone?

[ It's an honest question. Because he and Lambert only came to blows when the whole 'secret boyfriend' thing was dropped and Strange's mind is still focused on Ignatius. ]

Yesterday. Surely you aren't so scatterbrained as to have already forgotten about Lambert.

[ Yeah, admittedly not at all related to Ignatius, but if he has to apply it to this situation, he will absolutely be underhanded about it. ]

[ Whereas Childermass is underhanded with his tactics, Strange is blunt as hell. ]

That had nothing to do with Ignatius and everything to do with the personal information Lambert was withholding. Specifically, who he was in— [ nope, gonna have a bit of decency, gonna not put Lambert on blast with the 'love' word even though that's the main thing Strange is pissed about ] —who he was seeing and sleeping with ever since the moon.

[ he doesn't outright SAY 'I'm pissed at you also' but considering that Strange is saying all this through gritted teeth, that's pretty much implied. ]

Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong about the time frame. For all I know, it could have been earlier.

What it was about hardly matters, Strange. All you managed to do was prove that you're a violent man when kept out of the loop. You'll attack your supposed friend over something like that, so who's to say you won't attack young Mr. Shima next?

This Ignatius business is only a few days old. Unlike Lambert, Shima hasn't had the opportunity to lie to me for months on end.

Shima also never promised me that he would try to be more open about himself before going right back to lying and needless secrecy.

If that's what you think justifies it, then I shall await news of you going after whoever else you've perceived as a terrible liar.

But until then, I will indeed be offering the Ringmaster my opinion on the Ignatius matter.
