[Honestly, it isn't his fault he doesn't have hammer space or fancy magic to use for hiding stuff. Tyki didn't have to suggest he should contribute some other way like he had something to make up for when the topic of assuring the rest of the Carnival that the situation was under control came up; any one of them could have done that! But in the end there wasn't a graceful way to weasel out of it, so here Shima is, sighing and clicking his radio on to the public channel once they'd made it back to camp and had some rest.

The aggressive cheer in his voice poorly disguises the put upon tone to his announcement.]

Shima again. I'm sure some of ya've been wondering what's been up with that fae that our last team captured 'n got the Ringmaster ta eat. Well, good news, she's fine now 'n the eating was temporary.

Iggy-san is doing less hot, but he's alive 'n we've got him inside, uh... I guess it was a beach moon? Not sure how that works. But yeah, for whatever reason, since I fit the Ringmaster's criteria for a person suitable ta bring along for a chat with him, here's a first hand account that his powers have been stripped and he's successfully contained 'n not leaving the Carnival for a while.

Take a sigh of relief, or brace yourselves. Whichever!

[ There's an awkward pause before, ] I'd like to think it isn't entirely hopeless. But all we have to go on right now is idle speculation. That is, unless Shima would care to share some more information about the conversation.

Eeeeh, even if I gave a whole play-by-play, it'd still be speculation wouldn't it? That's so much work!

Now I kinda don't want to.

I dunno if we talked a whole lot about stuff that could be used ta win Iggy-san's favor anyway... We mostly ended up checking just how much he knew about what happened back when the old Winter Queen was killed. He says the current Summer Queen already suspected the current Winter Queen was just as guilty as the Ringmaster for it and just shoved the blame off on her.

Ah, I guess there was something--he mentioned the Summer Queen wants the Summer Maiden ta come back. Dunno if we could help with that?

[ well shit, this means that Strange actually has to give Lambert's 'the new Winter Queen helped murder the old Winter Queen' theory some props. ]

We could try, but it would be difficult. Everything I've heard about the Maiden tells me she's intensely pacifistic—I doubt she'd even want to be near this conflict.

Eeh, have we heard a lot about her? I guess her 'n RM-san are still on good terms...

Well, the Summer Queen's goals are apparently: get back the Blue Rose, the willing return of her successor, and for the revolution happening in the Summer Court ta be settled... Actually I guess I dunno if that's like still an active thing, might just be the risk of stuff falling apart that she wants resolved?

Considering the Summer Maiden let us stay there to recover and hosted a few other fae victims we picked up before, they're on pretty good terms.

Before that, the Summer Maiden and Winter Maiden sought out the Ringmaster to help overthrow or drastically change the Court system. She only fled to the Summerlands after the Winter Queen was murdered.

I doubt she'd willingly return, however. Not until things changed.

Who knows, maybe it's better that way.

[ Strange makes a noise like he's about to say something before he bites his tongue and just leaves an awkward pause. ]

Perhaps it is, [ though it's obvious Strange isn't so sure about that but doesn't really want to say so. He's already done soooo much yelling ]

[ It's obvious that Strange has some issues with that, but what they are Lambert can't even begin to guess. Still, at least he's going to offer up some explanation, considering Strange missed out on it due to the whole being kidnapped thing... ]

The Ringmaster said making a new Winter Maiden would take power that the Winter Queen doesn't have yet. [ Key word being: yet. ] Summer can't make a new Maiden while the old one is still alive. So for now, they're both missing some of their power.

I knew the bit about Summer already, [ Strange points out. Thanks, Ignatius! ] But not about Winter.

I wonder...maybe the Summer Maiden fleeing the court has something to do with why the Winter Queen can't make a new Maiden. After all, then it would be a power imbalance.

[ Unseen, Lambert grimaces. ]

Something we should ask the Summer Maiden, if we run into her again. [ She'd know her Court best, after all. Actually, they should have asked her a lot more things, but they didn't know as much back then as they do now... ]

If one or the other of the Courts gets their hands on the Miracles, that could be a power imbalance too.

Then the answer to that is simple: we don't let them get their hands on the Miracles.
