Ugh. No, shapeshifting doesn't have anything to do with your gem type, it's... when you were made that determines whether you can do it or not. Amethyst and Lapis can both do it. Even Pearl can, I assume. But not me.

Pff. Who says I didn't? Most of them are. Like I said, most people eat! It's not like there's a super strong population of gems around here. My boss is an alien too, but he definitely eats stuff.

Who, Psiionic? Well yeah, he's an organic. He has a weird, flesh based body that requires nutrients. Gems don't.

I dunno, eating just seems so tedious. You humans have to do it all the time, and then you spend almost as much time excreting waste. I'm surprised you haven't tried to find a way to bypass the need, yet.

Uh. Hm. Well—yeah, I'll admit, a lot of our functions are definitely tedious and gross... but a lot of 'em are also really, uh, pleasurable or whatever. It's a give and take, I guess. Ain't so bad.

Also, not like there's any inorganic lifeforms around here besides you guys, right?
