The Psionic here with a very important announcement.

The sense of camaraderie in our department is at an all time low. So, to fix this, attendance at Rex the Rat's birthday party is now mandatory for all Labor Department members. Also I will be bringing twister and you absolutely will have to play.

Chiaki may have gotten out of planning, but Lars, don't think you won't have to make the food still. And I think we have someone new so if your name is Adrien and you're listening to this, please go ahead and publicly introduce yourself. Yes you will have to come to the party.

If anyone knows any party games that will force people to get up close and personal, I'm open to suggestions.

[Joker is having a regular conversation with him. He's trying not sound extraordinarily happy about this, but he is. You can probably hear the glee in his voice, even though what they're talking about is relatively mundane.]

[He's about to make a joke about Joker coming to play when he realizes it might be hard to play twister with only one arm. And also it was a performance week, so the party had to be during the day before the carnival opened. Just as quickly as it had improved, his mood took a turn for the worse. Suddenly he wasn't quite sure what to say.]

[But he didn't want to fuck this up because Joker was talking to him. And he didn't want that to stop being a thing!]

Yeah... Agreed.

I can lend you an umbrella if you want to come check things out.

[He tried to sound as jovial and joking as before, but there was definitely a strange sort of subdued tone to his voice.]

[As far as Joker is concerned, just having a mundane conversation at all is strides enough. If they could finish this and still be alright... So the invitation to come over has him by surprise, and there's a noticeable pause before he recovers.]

S'fine, I've got my own- I guess I could pop in at some time, if I can find my own head in time. Y'know how busy it gets.

[And now everything felt awkward again. Was it his fault? Was he overthinking this?? Conversations weren't ordinarily this anxiety inducing to him.]
