[The voice that comes over the public channel is... odd, and new to most folks here. He pauses for a bit, as if that's the entire thought-- but, sure enough, he follows it with an obviously annoyed question.]

So we're just kind of... here, because they say so? Like... this can't be legal, can it? Has anybody tried talking to the fuckin' police about this?

[As he speaks, he gets increasingly irritated, his voice breaking.]

I'm gonna be real with you guys: I've got half a mind to just kinda magic my way out, except I'm pretty sure the Ringleader or whatever would come after me. Is that a thing?

Yeah... But it's different for everyone, some of the people here have loads of changed stuff! But then some people don't have a lot, like my brother just have leaves growing in his hair. It's kinda cool, actually.

I'm not looking to start growing plant life or, like, horns or something, though. I am pretty solidly in the "not okay with my body being magically altered without my consent" camp.

You can't really pick... If you ask the Ringmaster maybe she can make sure it happens a certain way though? But I think it's just the magic in this place. It's weird magic.

It could be, but probably not weirder than sudden wings and tails and eyes and stuff.

I guess I could, too, if I turned into an octopus or something. But that'd be weird too.

Oh, no no, not out of myself-- eeehhh, well, I suppose I could do something with polymorph. I was talking about borrowing something else's tentacles.

Yeah, polymorph is how I could do it too!

I don't think I know any spells where you borrow tentacles... [And he's not sure his brother would like that kind of magic.]

Oh, I can name a few, my magic amigo. They're out there.

Is it like... Necromancy? [As a sorcerer he doesn't know a lot about how magic works or is classified, honestly, but he knows that necromancy is Bad from what his brother's told him.]

Nnnnno. No, it's conjuration magic. Why would it be necromancy? I mean, I guess if you tried to summon something tentacled and dead...

I don't know, it just sounded like the kind of thing my brother doesn't like. And he doesn't like necromancy.

Ah. Yeah, no, necromancy is bad stuff, no doubt about that. But a nice set of tentacles can come in real handy sometimes.

Do they just do whatever you tell them to?

Yeah, I mean, I can command them, but they mostly do their own thing.

That's really cool... Are they strong? 'Cause, normally I just use fire or lightning but that sounds pretty neat too.

Hell yeah, they're strong! What'd you think, I'd borrow some elder god's appendages, and they're just like wet noodles?

I thought maybe they'd just flail around or something! I know if my arms just got summoned somewhere I'd be really confused and just wave them around.

Yeah, okay, fair point! I guess they must be pretty chill with it, though, otherwise they probably wouldn't listen to me at all, huh?

I guess not! How do tentacles listen, anyway, do they have ears on them too?

That is a good question. How do tentacles hear... mmmmnmnmm. I don't know.
