[ There are a lot of things people need to do right now: help the Prince's servants get resettled, get started on figuring out who can work on a cure for the petrification, deal with the trauma of dying in a hopefully healthy and non-self-destructive way, show the new people the ropes of what the Carnival has to work with.

Instead, in the morning of the second day since the Prince was defeated, anyone on the radio gets this: ]

[ The Nightrider's voice, for those who recognize it, has definitely been better. It's a low, hoarse rasp, and the pause at the end is not just for effect, but to actually catch his breath. ]

Just how old is everyone here, anyway? Here, I'll start. I'm ... pretty sure I'm almost sixty. [ A beat. ] ... Maybe.

[ Why did anyone let this man have his radio back again? ]

[ ooc; Lambert's flat on his back in the medical tent for this, feel free to bug him in person and threadjack each other at will. ]

[ To be fair, it's not like Lambert considers it a huge secret or a particularly taboo topic, but that is a surprisingly delicate way to ask about it ... ]

No, he can't. Nobody who uses magic for a long time in our world can. Or if they do, it's so rare nobody's heard of it.

[It's partly because Tamaki doesn't really have the vocabulary to talk about this sort of thing. But if it works out that way, that's a bonus.]

That's a weird side effect. [He doesn't mean that to sound rude, it's just surprising.] Um. Sorry?

[He has no idea if Lambert wanted to be a dad but it seems like the polite thing to say here.]

[ And that gets a short snort of laughter out of Lambert, and Celandine's wry input: ]

Can you really see Lambert as someone's dad? It's not so bad. Being changed means we don't get sick. That includes infections.

[Well, he can't exactly picture him being the sort of kind, supportive father his manager back home has, but he doesn't say that.]

Ah, that's good. I hate getting sick...

Is that why you look younger, too?

Yes. He'll still age, but slower...

That'd be nice... Then you could stay young a long time.

[As someone whose career partially hinges on his looks, Tamaki can appreciate this.]

No, that's just something we thought might come in handy. [ And it did. ] Though, it wasn't quite what we expected ... well, the Ringmaster solves most of her problems by turning into a dragon, so I suppose it works out in the end!
