Hello! I'm one of the newest members to recently join the carnival but because of... um, recent excitment I never got the chance to introduce myself to everyone. My name is Shiemi Moriyama and I'm from the same world as Rin and Yuki-chan if you're familiar with them.

I'm also the carnival's newest nurse so if you ever need medical assistance then let me know, I'll do my absolute best.

( somewhere in the background there is a noted 'Nee Nee' sound. )

Oh! I can also help with providing different types of plant life that you might need or might be more familiar with since we're surrounded by so much unknown. My familiar, Nee-chan, is a greenman-- a type of demon that can summon plants from his body. My family runs actually runs an apothecary back home and I'm training to take it over so I can also help with greenery questions or problems you might have.

It is but Nee-chan can only say 'nee' so...

They can't make it sound like anything else..?? Not even like how cats can meow different?

[This is Very Important information as far as the resident animal keeper is concerned.]

Hmm! Not exactly, I can certainly tell when he's sad or happy or even really excited.

( have one confused 'nee' because what even are we talking about. ) I had trouble at first because he doesn't talk like some demon familiars but now it's like we're on the same wavelength.

Ohhh.... [There is a contemplating pause on the other end.] Like...sharing feelings? [She's trying to figure out what wavelength here means. That's not a word she's especially familiar with after all.]

Something like that, I guess. We're connected in a manner of speaking, partners as it were... I like to think that we can understand each other's feelings.

Umnnhhh.... ....so it's not exactly like...

[What it's not 'exactly like' isn't very clear, and it doesn't help that Reira continues on.] How did you meet? If you're partners, that means you're friends right?

...Is that what being a familiar is too?

[Not....not quite kiddo.]

Yes, we are friends. He's almost like family now.

( there are more cute 'nee's on her end. ) We met when I went to school to become an Exorcist. As it turned out, I had talent as a Tamer-- a person capable of summoning demons. Nee-chan was the first and only one that I've called.

Friends can be family, can't they? [Family is, over all, a very fuzzy word for the child who's largely not been raised decently. The Carnival can be family right? She'd like to think it is.

Really, there's just a lot of curiosity budding on her end of the radio now.] Are demons like monsters?

Yuuya and I can talk to monsters...a lot of people can summon them, but not a lot can talk to them, though... [She seems to be trying to work out the answer herself by rambling- it might be best to just cut that short, really.]

...Why are they the only one though? [Or maybe she can do that herself.]

Considering we've got more than a few people with plant parts, it's handy to have a nurse who knows their way around some herbs.

What kind of plants can this demon of yours summon?

Oh! That's right! Some people are very plantlike in their changes, huh?

( talk about a confidence boost!! ) Hmm! Just about anything I can think of some herbs, to flowers and even trees. I haven't tried yet but he probably couldn't summon anything that doesn't grow in our world though.

Huh. We’ll have to test it sometime, see if he can grow seeds from other places if he’s got them.

[ A pause. ]

If you’re from the same world as Rin, do you know Shima and Shura too?

We'd definitely be up to try that out.

( oh no, she knew she was going to forget something and can't help laughing. )

Mmhmm. Shima-kun is a classmate of mine and Kirigakure-san is... ( hmm. ) She was one of my teachers.

[ He wonders about that pause, but shrugs it off as unimportant. Still, it's telling that those two aren't the first people who come to mind. ]

So that makes you an Exorcist too, right?

Nope, I was training to become one. I stopped my studies recently though in order to inherit my family's shop.

Huh. You can do that? Didn't sound like becoming an Exorcist was something you could quit.

Really? It's not common, I think but there's been Exorcists that have left the Order before me. I was only in-training too so they probably weren't worried about someone like me.

( it probably doesn't help she lives on school grounds. ) My family's shop supplies the Order anyway, so... I'll still be working with them all in a way.

Still useful to know who can fight. From what I heard, that school of yours takes a lot of work.

Wonderful! [ welcome to so many questions. ] In your world, how does one discover their familiar in the first place? Why do some magicians have them but some don't? Are they all demonic or can a familiar be a different sort of magical being?

( what has she brought on herself?? )

Um, well... I'm not a magician! I was an exorcist-in-training and one of the talents, or specializations is called Tamer-- exorcists who can summon and control demons. I found out I had a talent for it during one of my cram school classes. But I think all of them are demons though since I haven't heard of any other sort of magical beings being used.

Ah, summoning? My bent is more elemental and reflective, but I know a thing or two about summoning. How similar is it to fae? [ and then Strange realizes she JUST said she hadn't heard of other magical beings beside fae ] Do you have to use a special circle? What about a token? How does naming work in the equation?

( but how does she navigate these wild seas?? )

Y-yes! A summoning circle, blood and a specific appeal is needed which sometimes includes names. I'm not... so versed in everything beyond the basics though since Nee-chan is the only familiar that I've ever summoned.

The summoning I've cast uses candles or symbolic elements instead of blood magic—the naming is equally important, though. [ says the person who's been fucked over by improperly named targets in spells a few times in his life. ]

Do you want to learn beyond the basics? If needed, I don't mind writing up the theory behind my style of summoning.

I... um, yes! I would love to learn more if you don't mind. Although I've ended my studies back home but I know I need to learn all that I can while I'm here.

You can learn without a proper course of study, you know. Magic is too wild and too important to be confined to lesson plans and books.

And no, I don't mind. As a matter of fact, I've grown to like teaching.

That's so cool! I'm one of the nurses, too! And I have plant parts, and my Pokemon are plant types! Except... I guess my arms are kind of made of crystal right now, but they aren't usually...

[This is just kind of his way of saying 'same hat', more or less.]

Oh, wow. So we'll be coworkers, huh?

( still it's still sort of a surprise to here folks are made of plants but perhaps her knowledge from home will help her, help them. ) Did something happen to make your arms turn into crystals?

Yeah! And, um... well, I was one of the people that got kidnapped by a fae a little bit ago, if you were around for that. So... the crystals kind of came from a lot of weird fae stuff that happened to me.

There's this magical flower the carnival has called the Blue Rose, and its vines are made of crystal. So... my arms turned into plant crystals.

I heard about all of that when I arrived. It was right in the middle of everything so it was sort of confusing and a little scary, but it must have been worse for everyone that were taken or risked themselves.

( she wishes she could have done more but at least this now, making friends-- could help in the future! )

Although I have never dealt with crystallized plant life, I'll still do my best to help if it's ever needed.

Ahh, Nee-chan can help me get rare herbs and spices for my collection~! He can grow saffron, right?

Right, right! I'm sure Nee-chan could get some saffron for you.

I am Tyki Mikk. Magician at your service. [and Conman but he didn't say that publicly. The Order and Exorcists are his enemy at home after all. It's hard not to pry.]

If I heard correctly you know Rin? He's a gentle soul. [And others but he'll keep to himself how much he actually heard.] And you help run an apothecary. That must be a useful assess and perhaps why this Order allows you to keep a demon.

Mmm! Rin is one of my best friends, I owe him a lot.

( hmm! ) Our shop supplies exorcists and it's technically on school grounds so only they can reach it. I suppose they don't see it as much trouble because of that and especially since he's just a small Greenman too.

He found me at my worst and didn't bother me too much when I had screwed up.

[It had been Tyki's mistake and Rin had given him more work but good came out of it.] Exorcists? Sounds dangerous for a school. Is he limited to herbs or is it just about anything that can grow?
