public channel!
[ after he's settled in and been assigned his trailer and jobs, he's decided to roam around to find where this 'job' would be. the reality of everything hasn't entirely settled in yet. rather, he thinks that this is just a prank or a 'day thing' or something. there's a definite mental block on it.
nonetheless, he's going to the use the walkie on the public channel once he's reached the animals. there's a cacophony of animal noises in the background when he presses the button down to speak: ]
I didn't realize half of these animals existed! [ there's a roar and then some weird hissing. ]
How do you 'take care' of a dragon? Is there a special brush... or food...? He's much bigger than Makkachin! Speaking of which, has anyone seen an adorable poodle anywhere?

[If Viktor has wandered into a different part of the menagerie, he'd rather know now.]

[Sure enough, it's only a minute or so later that he reaches the area, lifting a hand in a wave when he catches sight of Viktor and the Psionic.]
Hey, there you are. I see you got to him first, Psionic.

Hey! Why do people always doubt the reality of my appearance?

I didn't doubt anything, I just wasn't sure if you'd planned to walk or fly.
[He turns to nod at Viktor, and one of his ears flicks curiously.] And you'd be the new guy, then. Name's Ginko; I'm another animal keeper here.

[ he seems pleasantly amused again. he tosses a quick look between his supervisor and his "co-worker", committing their faces to memory quickly. it was best if he remembered them in case of another "incident." ]
I'm Viktor. Pleased to meet you. [ and he most definitely extends his hand in way of greeting. ]

Kind of? There are other people in our department, but Ginko mostly looks after the animals.

[He nods in the general direction of most of the animals, then, after a moment of hesitation, takes Viktor's hand to shake it. Sometimes he almost forgets this is a thing on some places.]
This is actually pretty good timing; we've been kind of understaffed lately.
sorry i'm so slow, wheeze
[ he sakes the hand firmly and lets go, his smile so very hesitant. ]

[He's trying to judge this newbies attitude, but it's hard. Was he frightened? Overwhelmed?]
Ginko's been taking care of most of the animals for a while, so if there's one that seems difficult for you, I'm sure you guys can find a way to split up the work.

Right. And on the other end, let me know if there are any you have a preference for working with.
...While we're on the subject, it might be good to know how you are with moving heavy stuff around. Or animals, for that matter. I'm... not supposed to right now, so I need to know whether we might need to call someone in to help if something comes up.

Carrying things shouldn't be a problem, either. [ he seems determined? adjusting? maybe? likely it just hasn't sunk in entirely but you know. ] I have to put these muscles to use somehow!
