[The voice that comes over the public channel is... odd, and new to most folks here. He pauses for a bit, as if that's the entire thought-- but, sure enough, he follows it with an obviously annoyed question.]

So we're just kind of... here, because they say so? Like... this can't be legal, can it? Has anybody tried talking to the fuckin' police about this?

[As he speaks, he gets increasingly irritated, his voice breaking.]

I'm gonna be real with you guys: I've got half a mind to just kinda magic my way out, except I'm pretty sure the Ringleader or whatever would come after me. Is that a thing?

So, hold on... she's not the source of the magic around here? So, what does she do here, exactly, besides run the carnival?

I mean, she is? But also there's just... a lot of magic around. A lot of the employees have magic too, and I think it... mixes weird. Or something. I don't really know.

But anyway, the Ringmaster is really nice, if you get to know her. She just... likes to have things a certain way.

Okay, first off, she's keeping people here after coercing them into signing contracts, so let's not pretend that's not a thing she's doing and is super not cool.

Second, uh... mixes weird?

I mean... like I said, I'm the one who signed the contract.

[He sounds a bit sheepish about that. After all, he's one of the few people who signed on willingly.]

And, uh, like I said, I don't really get it. A lot of the magic IS the Ringmaster, but other people who come here have different magic. Or some people don't have any magic at all. And it kind of... smashes together?

Yeah, but I'm pretty sure it was under some kinda duress, am I right?

As for the magic thing, uh... as a magic user myself, I've gotta gotta be honest: I'm kinda nervous about that one.

Um, well... I kinda... signed it on purpose.

But, um, I use magic too! And the weirdest thing I've gotten so far is just fangs, so I wouldn't worry about it too much. It also has to do with how long you've been here, so it takes a while to kick in, I think.
