[Public Channel | Day 143]

[ The radio comes on to the sound of creaking wood and a familiar voice that is, for once, not sounding all that agitated, though it’s a little distant. ]

“--just burn us out of this.”

“Then you’re just going to burn us with it!
[Yuya’s tone, comparatively, sounds snappish.] “Don’t--don’t do anything, I’m going to get us help--”

[The radio clicks off. And then immediately clicks back on.] “Hello?”

[The anger’s been smoothed out of his voice, and instead Yuya is sounding fairly composed.] “Is there anyone available right now who doesn’t mind coming to the Summerlands? We’re, uh--we’re stuck.”

“In a tree.” [ Lambert contributes helpfully. That’s not super specific or anything, and that’s is why burning things would help! There’s another creak of wood, something shifting and shuddering, and his tone doesn’t change a jot as he continues. ] “Which may or may not be trying to hug us to death.”

[Yuya is just going to ignore Lambert’s fatalism.] “We don’t really know where we are, but we were drifting… east of the city? Do these things have GPS?” [Does half the carnival even know what GPS is?]

“We’re going to get out of the tree!” [He pipes up confidently, despite it.] “But help would be appreciated.”

Less than an hour, I'd say. Forty minutes, give or take.

[ A remarkably short amount of time to get in trouble, no matter how you look at it. Anyway, despite the relative ridiculousness of the situation, Lambert seems to approach it more with a sardonic sense of humor than hysterics. It's nothing to panic over, just kind of stupid. ]

Some of that was spent changing altitude. This one used magic to operate air valves.

Is the balloon... fabric? Tent thing? Envelope, that's the word! I think. [He's never been in a hot air balloon.]

...Is the colorful part that held the hot air nearby?

[ This is Lambert's first time, too, so he's not exactly the expert here. Nonetheless, he follows the logic easily enough. ]

It got torn off and stuck higher up in the tree. Should be visibly enough from the sky -- it's red and white.

Ah, good. Pass any landmarks or interesting terrain? Water, outcroppings, giant monuments to man's hubris... uh, fairy's hubris?

[Julien sounds pretty confident already but it doesn't hurt to be sure.]

Not even a funny-looking rock. Or rather, there are a lot of funny-looking rocks, and most of them look the same. [ If he had the vocabulary for it or any hope Julien would understand what he's talking about, he'd say the landscape looks very copy pasted ... ]

Try looking for a tree on a hill.

Ah, yeah, from above this place doesn't seem all that varied, huh? I'll do that. Shouldn't take long.
