PUBLIC CHANNEL - DAY 148
[ After all that super serious fae speculation, surely the Nightrider would have something important to say, right? Of course he doesn't. ]
All right, so which of you jokers put an egg in Pig's pen?
[ If he sounds faintly annoyed, it's because he is. ]
Now I can't get her out of there -- and before you ask, yes, I tried putting her back in the ball, and then she tried stepping on my head. Obviously, I'm just a little concerned why my horse has decided to try and hatch whatever this is-- [ He breaks off midway, yelling away from the radio. ]
Hey! Baker! I told you to leave that alone!
[ And on that inconclusive note, the radio post ends. ]

[Ah yes, he got praised. Clearly this is a great nickname that he should use forever.
At least he's not calling either of them grandpa!]

You like coming up with nicknames, don't you? Have you got a nickname for everyone?
no subject
[It's quite the hobby.]

[There's the kids at the orphanage, his friends from school, people he's worked with more than once (though those people are usually known as things like, "The Man with the Red Ball Cap."]
Mm, but the guys I worked with back home... Mikki, Iorin, Rikkun, Nagicchi, Yama-san, and Sou-chan. And of course Manager, and Ban-chan and Boss. And then there's Ryuu-aniki, Gakkun, and Tenten, and Yukirin and Momorin.
And then here there's Doe-chan, Yuu-chan, Stevicchi, Manager, Gin-san, Psi-aniki, Merlin, Mikocchi, Ritacchi, Massachi, Gon-kun, Mari-chan, Sorarin, and Zeco-san. Oh, and Rini-san.

[ Yes, explain Japanese honorifics to the guy from fake medieval Poland. ]
no subject
A lot of them don't mean anything... Um, but. "Chan" is like, for cute people? Like little kids and girls. And "kun" is like, for guys?
[Let's just condense all the social nuance of Japanese honorifics into tiny blurbs.]
"Aniki" is for people who are like, cool big bro types. And "san" is just... mm... for everything?
no subject
[ HE'S NOT SAD HE APPARENTLY DOESN'T QUALIFY AS A COOL BIG BRO... HE'S NOT... and this isn't him pettily amusing himself at John 'Tightwad' Childermass's expense. ]
no subject
Eh? It's just kind of cute, right?
[He is making everyone's names cuter, even the names of grouchy old men.]
no subject
Childermass must be thrilled to hear someone thinks he's cute.
no subject
[So he can keep being not thrilled.]
But if he's not cute, his name can be.
