Months ago, during the Celebration, a few of us got together to talk about and compare the magic from our worlds. Well, it's been a while since then and we've certainly picked up more magicians, so why not revive that little discussion group?
[ he's phrasing it as a hypothetical but as Strange keeps barging on, there's nothing hypothetical about it: he is totally reviving that discussion group. ]
I've asked around and the smaller festival hall in the building closest to the carnival portal is available for our use. Anyone who's interested should meet there tonight, just after sundown, for an informal gathering to talk about magic. There will be space inside the festival hall and outside in the snow for anyone to demonstrate their techniques.
Likewise, anyone who wishes to learn about magic should come and visit as well. [ And there's a bit of a pause like Strange is trying his hardest to choose his words carefully. ] Magicians in the carnival have different types of magic drawing upon different techniques. While one school of thought might seem incomprehensible, another might seem as clear as day. This is a chance for those of us with magic to learn from each other and develop our skills and those of us who wish to learn magic to see what practice would best fit their needs.
[ There's a pause, because Strange has no idea how to end this. ] Sound off if you're coming, I suppose. Oh, and can someone bring snacks?
( ooc: this is an ic post about mage club, an idea floated around on the cr meme a while back. I'll put up a mingle log later in the week for the actual meeting itself. as for this post, feel free to threadjack around! )

[ Strange has noticed that 'not relevant' point and is poking it with a stick.
Though oooh, Foster's gonna learn, now THAT'S interesting and something Strange wants to be super nosy about. ]
If you won't teach, then you must be learning. Is there any type of magic in particular you're interested in?

[Don't answer that, Strange. Foster's just contrarian and contentious. As usual.
He goes moodily, pensively silent at the question, though. And when he replies, his answer is... guarded. And slightly ominous.]
Not...
....yet.

[ but the point is magic and Foster's talking magic so let's talk magic. ]
But in that case, I hope you find a style of magic that suits your needs.

[Foster is... laughing at him. Oh, that's hilarious. His needs! What he needs requires nothing so elaborate as magic to achieve.]
No--no, not mine. The Carnival's. The Ringmaster!
Lambert as her kennel master, I am not even a dog.
[He says all this like it should be obvious.]
But he wants a means to improve and secure his pack.

My point still stands. Even if your desires are to support other people's desires, it's still your needs.

There's also a moment of pause on Foster's end.
Then he laughs. This time more normally.]
In that case... mmmm.
...I hope so too.
