This is…Herbert West: a contributor to the recent cure as you may recall as well as…your new Doctor. [He pauses to let that sink in, sounding really smug about it.] The Medical Team is still, small but as more experienced members join it has become more…evident that we do not have the resources we need to properly, treat the Carnival staff.
Namely: up to date medical documentation on you all—now, I made do before with what I had, during the process of constructing the cure but those involved may recall being asked various questions, questions which would have been unnecessary had the previous department been keeping your notes on file. Perhaps medical files aren’t required by, magical zebras but they are required by. Me. It is considerably easier for everyone when all previous knowledge doesn’t leave with the former physician—I’m sure you can agree. [He’s trying his best to sound congenial, definitely, but it mostly comes off as stilted as usual…maybe it counts that he’s trying?]
Today and tomorrow, myself and Mr Okumura will be available to perform physical examinations; any additional medical history you can provide is, welcome, and if you would prefer to attend on an alternate date, contact me to arrange a time.
[And then because so many people here are damned word weasels:] I have to insist all of you show up. Even if you’re healthy. Especially, if you’re healthy to give us an idea of your baseline state but we will, of course, treat any issues you have. Understand, it’s for the good of the Carnival and everyone’s…future well-being.
[ooc: Make sure to help me out by posting anything you think of to the med tent info post. Also, Herbert is almost literally always in the med tent during daytime hours but let us know if you have an ooc preference for checkups.]

To be honest, I have very little experience with anyone like you. However, it is important for us to have as much of a baseline as possible in case you suffer from any illnesses or injuries in the future. What medical care is common in your home?

[But Syrlya is the only Sylvari here, posing the obvious problem.] Er--that is, we can be afflicted with the same diseases you may find in trees or flowers, but not ones that afflict those that are flesh. Like a... cold.
[Good enough example.] Magical ailments, however, usually affect us in the same manner. If I am wounded physically, bandages are still an effective way of keeping the wound closed and protected.

I have some limited knowledge of plant care, but I'll continue researching it.
Do you have any scars I could see? [A healed tree or plant scars up far differently from a human, and Yukio wants to verify exactly which healing method is closer.]

So after a moment he pulls off his right gloves and rolls the sleeve past his elbow. His arm, unsurprisingly, is of similar slightly-waxy complexion of his face, though the leaves that press together to form it are larger. He turns his arm over so Yukio can see some smaller scars on the inside of his elbow, from something sharp stabbing into him. He hardly remembers how he got the wound, but there's apparently scarring left behind that has a similar pale, slight indention as scars left on plant matter.]

May I?
[If he gets consent, he's going to carefully examine that arm.]
Thank you.
Do you eat, or photosynthesize?

Syrlya's skin feels much like grass, but thicker. The scar is a little more coarse, and definitely and old wound.
As for his other question...] Both, but most of my energy comes from eating. I cannot gain enough from light to live like this.
[Mobile, like a human. Otherwise he'd be stuck in place like any other flower.] My diet is likely the same as yours, or at least it can be.

When you say "like this", do mean you have a different form?

It would be best for you if we had a Mender here, but I will do what I can, if you are ever in need of care.
