This is…Herbert West: a contributor to the recent cure as you may recall as well as…your new Doctor. [He pauses to let that sink in, sounding really smug about it.] The Medical Team is still, small but as more experienced members join it has become more…evident that we do not have the resources we need to properly, treat the Carnival staff.

Namely: up to date medical documentation on you all—now, I made do before with what I had, during the process of constructing the cure but those involved may recall being asked various questions, questions which would have been unnecessary had the previous department been keeping your notes on file. Perhaps medical files aren’t required by, magical zebras but they are required by. Me. It is considerably easier for everyone when all previous knowledge doesn’t leave with the former physician—I’m sure you can agree. [He’s trying his best to sound congenial, definitely, but it mostly comes off as stilted as usual…maybe it counts that he’s trying?]

Today and tomorrow, myself and Mr Okumura will be available to perform physical examinations; any additional medical history you can provide is, welcome, and if you would prefer to attend on an alternate date, contact me to arrange a time.

[And then because so many people here are damned word weasels:] I have to insist all of you show up. Even if you’re healthy. Especially, if you’re healthy to give us an idea of your baseline state but we will, of course, treat any issues you have. Understand, it’s for the good of the Carnival and everyone’s…future well-being.

[Just move as far away from the topic of her home life, and they'll be fine-probably. Reira nods, but a bit more readily. After all, the things that happened here are clear in her mind. And also 'fixed', last she checked. And, well, Herbert certainly didn't react poorly when she came for the cure (though Herbert also never got to ask about the rest of her 'medical history'...).]

I got poisoned at the Prince's 'manor'-but Doctor Herbert gave me the medicine for that already, and I'm not sick from that anymore..!

[Yeah let's... not talk about that. Ever again.]

[Anything else? Not really. He doesn't want to ask.]

[She might have well found some excuse not to answer at all at this point-you don't feel so great Yukio. You don't feel great at all.

She'll try a small smile. Smiles help things at least a little right? That's what Yuuya always said, so she nods.] Mnh-!! I will..!

Only if the changes are bothering you, or if they change your eyes or blood or the amount of arms and legs you have.

[There is a pause.

Uh. Yes. [He's seen a human head on a horse neck and somehow this is no less terrible.

RIGHT OKAY he knows what those are]

Those are nictitating membranes. They should help protect your eyes.

Do you have any other changes like that?

Oh! [And ok, there they go, she is putting those back, thank goodness.] ...That means they're working then..! I used them a lot when Taako was cooking, because it got dusty a lot...

[Anyway.] ...That's the only one... ...There's just my rocks, and then the sparkles when I walk, after that. [The rocks, of course, are obvious. They're kinda making patches on her skin, not to mention the olivine crystal growth formations just at the side of her head. (They look a bit like roses...)

Sparkles... ...Eh, he'll see that when she goes to leave.]

That's exactly how you should use them. [He'd noticed the rocks, and there'd been some sparkling when she walked in that he'd brushed off as unimportant.]

Are the rocks causing you any pain? Do they rub on your skin anywhere? If they do, we can talk to the wardrobe department about adjusting your clothing.

[She just shakes her head.] They're okay. ...They're just my skin now.

[It's Fine.] ....I got lots of clothes after the rocks anyway. People gave me a lot of sweaters!

[She received two. Two whole sweaters.]

Just because they're part of you doesn't mean that they're going to be comfortable. [Does "they're okay" mean "they don't bother me" or "I'm used to being uncomfortable"? Yukio has no way to know.]

May I see your arm? [He'll check the inside of her elbow to see how the rocks are placed and if they're abrading her skin.]

[The girl nods, holding it out. It's probably a mix of reasons for being Okay, but for now, he'll never know.

At any rate, the rocks are certainly blending right in. The colour change might be immediate, but the blend of material is practically seamless. What is interesting however, is that the arm she holds out-specifically, the right arm-has four small gemstones within the rocks. Beyond that, they seem to mimic odd scales spreading along the outside of the arm, ending with a few small patches on the back of the hand. The outer elbow and wrist have a 'spike' of sorts...but only a small one, more of a 'tiny pointy bump'.]

[He's very gentle with her, taking her arm carefully and watching for her reactions. Yukio isn't the sort of person who'll hurt a child, and especially not when he's being her doctor.]

If these spikes start getting longer, scratching things or getting caught on things, let me know and I'll help you figure out how to cover them, all right?

Mnh! Ok... ...Did you know someone who had spikes? [No, Reira, it's a common sense deal. As it is, no real reaction to being handled; she just sort of watches what he does with a curious eye.]

No, but it's important for a doctor to be considerate of their patients. [Yukio says, as if he's actually a real doctor, as if he could ever entertain the idea for real. He knows he can't, but...

well, she's a little kid who needs reassurance.]

[She's not sure she gets it. But maybe it's a 'his world' thing. She keeps from questioning it for now, at least, and merely nods.] Oh..!

I understand, then.

[She doesn't, not really, but at least Yukio has what he needs for now.]
