[ It had taken a bit to scour the book for any other bit of information once he'd gotten it back from one of the stupidest book specters he had to misfortune of running into but now that he has, here he is, reading the first bit over the radio.

Following that, he adds, asking, ]

Has anyone else found something regarding a mirror? I believe this may be one of the miracles but confirmation would be nice to have.

[ If he could get a big ol' shrug across a radio frequency, he would, but he can't. He has no real opinion on religion (unless one counts the Raven King as one, anyway). ]

God created Eden and the first Man and first Woman and bade them partake of anything in the garden, for all was for them. All save for one tree, though. The Tree of Knowledge. Which they did avoid up until a serpent tempted them with fruit from it and that was the end. They gained knowledge of the world but were cast out of paradise for it.

Hmph. What's the point in having a rule like that?

[Well, she can think of some possible reasons, but none that Rita would find satisfying. But this is a girl who prizes knowledge above all else, so of course she wouldn't.]

You're better off asking in a church than asking a magician, Ms. Mordio. I imagine I would have ended up just as exiled as they were. The difference here, however... when Man was cast out, they retained their knowledge. The Beasts, I think, did not.

They went back to being ordinary beasts... [There's actually a hint of pity in Rita's voice. Could their intelligence really be lost so easily? It's tragic, in a way.]

I wonder if there's some way we can help them.

[ And he turns back to the book, pages rustling over the radio. He reads, ]

"They could no longer bear the destruction of their works, and laboured to seize control of the realm. However, they were no match for their Maker in strength. Despite having the sympathy of a fraction of the Architects, the Furies were stripped of their Will and their Innocence, cast into the barrens beyond the garden. The Furies would rise many times, and each time they would be struck down, the Maker creating new Beasts in their places, without the Wisdom of their progenitors."

Ms. Tanyuu seems to have uncovered what happens after this, though only relating to one of the Architects.

The 'Serpent', right? I was listening. She sounds like a potential ally.

I have to wonder what this 'Flame of Inspiration' is, though... Maybe it's a magic artifact of some kind?

If it's akin to the 'Fruit of Knowledge', it must be, though what exactly it would do, I cannot say. The Fruit, at least, should be just that. A fruit.

A fruit? I guess it's possible, but I wonder how that works...

[Do the Beasts have to eat it? Or can its effects be felt without doing that? No, that's not what's important right now...]

If the Fruit of Knowledge was what gave them the ability to rise above other beasts as intelligent, sapient beings, then maybe the Flame of Inspiration bestowed some other quality to help elevate them.

The will to improve? To build and create? Knowledge is fine but if you aren't willing to use it, what then?

Maybe. It makes sense... especially if they were tasked with planning and shaping that 'paradise' of theirs.
