[ It had taken a bit to scour the book for any other bit of information once he'd gotten it back from one of the stupidest book specters he had to misfortune of running into but now that he has, here he is, reading the first bit over the radio.

Following that, he adds, asking, ]

Has anyone else found something regarding a mirror? I believe this may be one of the miracles but confirmation would be nice to have.

The Silver Mirror... wait, one of the books I grabbed has that title! Give me a minute...

[There's already the sound of pages shuffling and covers thudding against the floor as Rita digs it out of what's apparently a sizable pile of books she's accumulated for reading. She turns the radio off for a few minutes to look through it, but returns to it before long.]

Here it is. "The Court of Sun and the Court of Shade worked in harmony and their influence planted the seeds from which the first worlds grew..."

[That's their clue. But since the rest of the passage is long and flowery, Rita opts to summarize it.]

... It says the Mirror can bend the light in the hearts of those who look into it... cleansing them of darkness, or corrupting them... The races of angels and demons tried to claim it, but it looks like this 'Lilith' got to it first.

So it is a Miracle. Good. The book mentions what the realm Lilith created as well, though...

[ There's a pause. It isn't really uncomfortable or awkward, just... there. He had to reread this more than a few times to digest the fact that apparently— ]

It is Eden. Full of intelligent beasts. Not exactly the way I've ever heard it described but there it is.

Perhaps an odd question, but how many of those nouns are capitalized?

I've noticed a few quirks about the Scribe's writing.

Well, obviously the Silver Mirror and the Nephalem Lilith are capitalized. Beast, Soul, Chaos, and Perfection, just in that paragraph. I have more to it, I've just not read it over the radio yet.

If yours and Rita's mirror is the same one I read about, the mirror used to belong to the Winter Queen.

[ gonna start this off with what's of interest to childermass, after all. ]

I've no idea how it got from her to Lilith, however. What I've found just said it went missing.

And all I've found is what Lilith did with it after it came into their possession. Seems like it can create realms, only I suspect the Blue Rose can as well.

[ Maybe all the Miracles can. Who knows for sure? The Queens, probably. ]

"The Realm was called Eden, a paradise where Mankind was considered anathema. The Beasts of the land were given will and the power to make their own reality, instructed to create their perfect world, and their perfect Master. Lilith left them to their works."

[ He reads off the next passage in the excerpt, as if that might reveal anything. It only really reveals the point of Lilith's theft, though he does add, ]

The 'perfect Master' seems to be the problem they have, however, rather than being thrown out for eating the wrong apple off the wrong tree.

[Syrlya's definitely listening in on everyone's information about the mirror. It seems more than likely it's one of their miracles--so there is something worthwhile in this trip. Good.]

It must be Sun and Shade. I wonder if these 'Beasts' are people who are not human-like in their form or... actually just animals.

[They're probably too intelligent for the latter, right?] I am not familiar with Nephalem. Who are they?

The Nephalem... The book I read said they're "beings of both Holy and Hellish blood."

Angels. [ That's his initial answer, though there's a pause, a moment to consider, and then, ] Or so I would guess, though I am no expert on that. If Ms. Mordio says they have both Holy and Hellish blood, perhaps they are something in between.

No mirrors here. Just metals ... and what's weak against them.

Don't suppose you could just ask the Scribe themselves to clear up this bullshit, could you?

Don't count on it... the Scribe barely remembers what they write, once it's finished.

I wouldn't hold my breath for that.

[ It's almost like you can hear Childermass shrugging. ]

Metals? Why were you reading about metals?

Not mirrors, but I saw a 'Beast' and this Lilith. I wonder if these are the same story, just... scattered around randomly?

"In the beginning, there was Man and there was Beast.

"The Beast lived in harmony with Creation and Void, prospering when Creation allowed it and perishing when the Void declared it so. Mankind, however, built a foundation of civilization and of technology, shaping the world to suit its needs. I wonder if Nephalem is the same as nephilim - someone who's both angel and mortal. Considering the difference between changelings and fae it'd be odd if a part-angel had this kind of power, wouldn't it?

Wait, so all these references to "beasts"... Those were literal? They're just animals taken from human-populated worlds?

They do all sound to be from the same story. Lilith granted the beasts a will, but that will could not suit their ideas of perfection. The Scribe doesn't appear to write everything related in the same book.

[Which is unfortunate and annoying.]

It is interesting that their intentions seem to have shifted. The mirror seems to have some sort of ability against darkness, but we have found nothing to indicate it can do the same thing to banish light. Yet Lilith's original intention was the absence of both?

Mankind naturally broke that harmony by seeking more of itself in my world. It is what allowed such chaos and torment to breach into the world. Over time it got worse.

To be freed from both Darkness and Light seems nigh impossible. But you are right, it would be odd if a part-angel held this power considering Man and Beast as a whole.

It certainly adds to the story I found. Lilith wishes the Beasts to rule in their own right, but with a ruler who is free of both Darkness and Light? That would explain why they needed the mirror, though they are having no luck with it if the rest of what I have is correct.

This Lilith wishes it wasn't, it would seem. As for what it does... I am not truly certain. It created an entire realm, that much is apparent, and it must reflect how Light or Dark a soul is if Lilith can judge a soul with it.

Mr. Strange found something about a mirror that removed darkness from people's hearts. [He thinks he heard him on the radio, but there's a lot of conversation so Yuya's just affirming it.] I've been trying to find more about it, but no luck.

Is the realm like a Ringmaster's, or a whole world?

Realms like the carnival are fairly common, so when it comes to beings creating worlds, I tend to assume it's a realm first and foremost. Creating the type of universe you're used to is a waste of energy.

[ Somehow Childermass isn't surprised by who's voice it is that follows the incessant whining sound. ]

A sheet? [ Though the thought isn't without merit. ] Considering what it's been described doing so far... I suppose that's an idea. What did you find about it?

Oh! Me. I did find somethin' like that. It's just a drawin' though, called "The Silver Mirror". So... I guess we know what it looks like, at least?
