[ It had taken a bit to scour the book for any other bit of information once he'd gotten it back from one of the stupidest book specters he had to misfortune of running into but now that he has, here he is, reading the first bit over the radio.

Following that, he adds, asking, ]

Has anyone else found something regarding a mirror? I believe this may be one of the miracles but confirmation would be nice to have.

Because I do not want to tell your wife that you valued Mr. Norrell's temper over returning to her in one piece!

[ Childermass... still doesn't yell, not really, but he will raise his voice. ]

You will not have to tell her anything, because when I use the Mirror to break the curse, I'll tell her myself.

[ there's a pause before Strange just swings into a new round of complaining. ]

Why do you have so little faith in me to begin with? I've fought in the peninsula, I've opened realms no other Englishman dared to open, I've changed the face of English magic itself and yet you still treat me like a child who needs to be protected and scolded! Can't you at least try to accept my actions?

[atouts]

[ Could it be said he ever treated Norrell any better, though? At least here, he does pause, actually considering the question. Childermass is tough on him when it comes to his well-being and the why is clear enough to him. ]

Because I am afraid, Mr. Strange. [ He will, at the very least, be honest. ] This is not the peninsula. We are not fighting the French. We are not even fighting a fairy of our own world. There is much out here that we might do that can not be undone, so much that we won't even see it coming.

[kingsroads]

[ it's an honest admission. One that takes some of the wind out of Strange's sails more than he wants. Because surpriiise, guess who's still a bit terrified of things as well but is reacting by going headfirst into bad decisions? ]

I still think it's worth a try.

Anyway, he sighs. Because really, this argument will never end if he isn't the one who relents. ]

Assuming you are even allowed to... Will you at least let me standby in case something does go wrong? If I was able to dispel the vines around Steven, I may be able to do the same for whatever else might happen.
