[ It had taken a bit to scour the book for any other bit of information once he'd gotten it back from one of the stupidest book specters he had to misfortune of running into but now that he has, here he is, reading the first bit over the radio.

Following that, he adds, asking, ]

Has anyone else found something regarding a mirror? I believe this may be one of the miracles but confirmation would be nice to have.

And all I've found is what Lilith did with it after it came into their possession. Seems like it can create realms, only I suspect the Blue Rose can as well.

[ Maybe all the Miracles can. Who knows for sure? The Queens, probably. ]

[ He reads off the next passage in the excerpt, as if that might reveal anything. It only really reveals the point of Lilith's theft, though he does add, ]

The 'perfect Master' seems to be the problem they have, however, rather than being thrown out for eating the wrong apple off the wrong tree.

[ There's a small little chuckle in Strange's voice before he continues. ]

The Winter Queen used the mirror herself to, quote, 'cut the Darkness from her heart.' I can't help but wonder...how metaphorical do you think this darkness really is?

[ says the person currently stuck under a curse of darkness back in canon. ]

I struggle to imagine that being elemental Darkness... the Winter Queen is the progenitor of elemental Darkness! Cutting it from herself seems... horrid.

Whatever she did with it, it certainly affected her. [ There's the sound of papers shuffling before Strange recites: ] 'she felt nothing but sorrow and bitterness upon seeing the pristine gleam' then it goes on to say 'she knew that it's power could cut the Darkness from her heart, to cure her of these pains, yet she refused.'

Which, on second thought, does seem more metaphorical, darkness akin to a sadness or depression, but there's no way of knowing the specifics without finding and trying it ourselves.

Ugh. Light and Darkness are so complicated. I don't understand how the Maiden deals with it. My own composition is much more tenable.

You're...what, fire and ash? I know you're a phoenix but also a dragon, I've simply forgotten what elemental aspects you claim, if any.

My makers were the Phoenix and the River Dragon, so I'm actually a lot of things. Fire, Life, Storm... Death, Water, Wood, Frost...

Do all Wyld Fae have such a wide assortment of elements under their domain?

No. It's more uncommon than it is common. Yet, perhaps not surprising.

I'd say retaining two to three elemental affinities is more common. There is a reason I earned the title "the Great Beast" however, and its because I'm far greater than average.

I wonder if she refused for the aspects her Court embodies, or a sense of pride... [Actually, what does purging an element from an element-based being do? Probably not good things.]

When we obtain the Silver Mirror, I want to use it to try and remove the darkness from myself.

Absolutely not. [Vetoed.] You saw what the Blue Rose could do. There is a reason we are not freely testing the abilities of that.

[Syrlya, who doesn't know Strange is cursed, is assuming this is some dumb magic nerd thing. Which really just makes it worse, because then it's like they didn't just see why that's a horrible idea.]

I saw what the Blue Rose did to Steven. There's so much difference between the two of us that we've no way of knowing if the Mirror would do something like that to me.

[ differences that Strange isn't going to go into over a public radio channel b/c he is smart and knows that dunking on Steven makes people mad ]

The only way we'll know the full extent of the Mirror and if it's even the artifact we're looking for is to test it. And when that happens, I want it to be used on me.

Is Darkness capitalized? [ Like, the Ringmaster made a good point about that. ] Then it isn't metaphorical at all. Perhaps there was something within her that she hated.

[kingsroads]

[ flip flip flip the paper... ] It is.

[ and Strange just sounds WORRYINGLY EXCITED about all this. ] If that's the case, then we need to focus on this mirror. Has anyone found anything about Lilith abandoning Eden or Eden falling into ruin or anything like that?

Not that I have heard yet. [ But Strange is excited and that makes Childermass suspicious. ] There is still one other Miracle. Why focus on the mirror if we learn of the other?

[kingsroads]

The mirror can remove darkness.

[ said in a tone of voice that implies Childermass should understand precisely what darkness Strange is talking about (hint, it's his curse) ]

[ Yeah, he does, oh how he does. ]

No. You do not know if it means that kind of darkness. It is regarding one's Soul [ obligatory capital letter ] and not some fairy curse, Strange.

We won't know until we try! We barely know anything about the mirror. Who's to say it can't do both?

Darkness is always an interesting question to absolve within oneself. It can refer to a lot of things especially with its conflict against Light.

All the more reason why we should focus on the mirror. The sooner we get it, the sooner we can figure out precisely what sort of darkness it can dispel.

Yet Light can be just as deadly without the darkness to smother it. To rid oneself of all their darkness seems like a frightening situation.

And yet it had appeal for the Winter Queen. I wonder what made her do it?

Desperation, Disgust, or Destruction would be my guess. I don't think Love is a factor.

I don't know. People have done more dangerous things in the name of love. [ case in point: Jonathan Strange. ]

It's a pity my normal methods of finding out information won't work that well here. We haven't found anyone to gossip with!
