[ rhys is usually pretty good with electronics but it takes him a little bit of time to figure out how to work this thing. it used to be so much easier. hyperion was a lot of things but technologically deficient it was not. ]

So, I gather things are still going on. Or maybe they're winding down? I can't tell because I've been stuck here the whole time.

[ he was still hanging out at the carnival, staying out of things because this was all a little too much for a guy who still considered him new. ]

Anyone need anything from back here? Laundry? Food? Hugs and kisses?

I've got calluses on my hands from all the sweeping I've been doing because there's really nothing else to be done. That's how bored I am.

Well, I've got my arm. That's about all I need to fight. It does cool things. And I used to have a gun but I don't have one here.

Gun was made of metal, I'm sure. I didn't exactly ask. I just grabbed it and used it to make sure nothing killed me.

[ and it had worked thus far. he was never going to be a sharpshooter with the gun but he knew how to aim and pull a trigger. ]

As for my arm, zaps people. Gives me information. Plays funny videos. Anything you can ask for from an arm.

It's a computer.

[ rhys holds his arm up in front of the video and lets a bluish model of a skag appear right in the palm of his hand. it was more for him than her, though. he just wanted to make sure that still worked even though she wouldn't be able to see it.

But computers do things in different ways sometimes, [She pesters, nodding to herself furiously. She knows this mostly because her brother has a habit of making them.

And also, using them to spy on people.

But computers are databases. They store information, they provide information. That's what my arm does.

[ and it zaps people which was a cool little hidden talent of the whole thing. he really needed to find a way to thank the people that did his modifications for that. ]

That's what my arm does. It stores and provides. Gives me an advantage over the competition. The edge. It's why I made the choice to get it. So, I'd be better than everyone else at Hyperion.

Yeah, but it learns new things all the time. And the database is very large.

[ it knew things that rhys didn't know. it knew things that it shouldn't know. and rhys wasn't even gonna tell her about the scanning just yet.
