Out of curiosity, you know, for no particular reason at all, is anyone truly unhappy about being held against their will in this Carnival? What would you do if you had a chance to be free of your contract?

[Tamaki is curious. The carnival isn't all bad, but after what happened in the Matrix, he wouldn't mind finishing up his contract early.]

The people are nice, but it's scary sometimes. Do you know a way to get out?

I don't have a concrete way yet, but I might have one soon.

I know it's scary sometimes. We shouldn't have to put up with this.

Well... that makes it sound like somebody's holding us by their own will. But I'm not sure that's really what's going on, I guess.

This world sort of operates on its own rules... and we just have to follow them. All of us, the workers, the Ringmaster, everyone. It's not really something you can break out of.

And it's not hurting anyone, and it'll help us when we go home, so... it's not really all that bad anyway, is it?

I hope not forever. That's the point.

Ah, you are correct. Allow me to amend that. You really are going to complain on and on about this for the entire year and a day, aren't you?

I can hardly call it 'being held against my will' if I willingly made a contract in the first place, can I.

Still, if someone's unhappy then of course they should have the means to leave—or perhaps to lessen their sentence somehow.

It's none of my business if you willingly accepted servitude and bodily transformations.

I tried to leave and got turned into a chameleon for my troubles. They're not letting us go early.

No. Not me, anyway. I mean, yeah, it's weird and nobody's gonna believe me about any of this, but I wouldn't say I'm unhappy.

I can't exactly say I'm here against my will, but given the chance I would return to my family as soon as I could. I miss them so much!

And, to be honest, there's been a few times where I've felt like I'm in over my head.

Of course I do! Oh, but don't get me wrong, I know I owe the ringmaster a tremendous debt and I have every intention of fulfilling it. I wouldn't have a family to go back to without her!
