This is…Herbert West: a contributor to the recent cure as you may recall as well as…your new Doctor. [He pauses to let that sink in, sounding really smug about it.] The Medical Team is still, small but as more experienced members join it has become more…evident that we do not have the resources we need to properly, treat the Carnival staff.
Namely: up to date medical documentation on you all—now, I made do before with what I had, during the process of constructing the cure but those involved may recall being asked various questions, questions which would have been unnecessary had the previous department been keeping your notes on file. Perhaps medical files aren’t required by, magical zebras but they are required by. Me. It is considerably easier for everyone when all previous knowledge doesn’t leave with the former physician—I’m sure you can agree. [He’s trying his best to sound congenial, definitely, but it mostly comes off as stilted as usual…maybe it counts that he’s trying?]
Today and tomorrow, myself and Mr Okumura will be available to perform physical examinations; any additional medical history you can provide is, welcome, and if you would prefer to attend on an alternate date, contact me to arrange a time.
[And then because so many people here are damned word weasels:] I have to insist all of you show up. Even if you’re healthy. Especially, if you’re healthy to give us an idea of your baseline state but we will, of course, treat any issues you have. Understand, it’s for the good of the Carnival and everyone’s…future well-being.
[ooc: Make sure to help me out by posting anything you think of to the med tent info post. Also, Herbert is almost literally always in the med tent during daytime hours but let us know if you have an ooc preference for checkups.]

Thank you, nii-san. [Super energy drink fruit? He needs that.]
--> action!
[and, true to his word, Rin shows up a bit later that afternoon to the medical tent with a big thermos of black coffee and a small grocery bag with five or six key-lime sized orange fruits, glowing gently like tiny lanterns, as well as some styrofoam cups for the coffee. There might also be some sweet surprises in there -- leftover christmas cookies!]
Yo! Coffee delivery!
action!
Nii-san?

Dude. Working yourself to death again already? Promise me you're gonna go home and get a good nights' rest.
[you really make him worry, Yukio. Rin shakes his head and looks for an empty bit of counter space to set up his stuff.]
But I brought coffee! And cookies. And some of those weird fruits. Don't eat more than one at once, though, they'll give you the shakes like you wouldn't believe.

Caffeine, his true love, has once again appeared to rescue him from a fate worse than death. Yukio grabs a box from under his desk and offers it to Rin, while taking the coffee and cups. Those are his now.
Also, those fruits...]
Does everything glow here? [The alcohol from their birthday (which he took back to his room with him, after it knocked him out for a solid twenty hours), and now this fruit. (and sometimes, like when it first showed up, the faint blue mask across his face, covering the skin around his eyes with flame-shaped patterns like some kind of horrifying birthmark).]
no subject
He gets distracted from mystery box by the comment about glowing food, though] Ha! It seems like it, huh? If you juice these things, the juice glows too. But if you cook with it, the glow goes away. Weird, right?
no subject
Do the stimulant properties remain after the fruit is cooked? [Yukio's already considering uses for it beyond just keeping himself awake.
The box is a mystery, but it's clearly got something in it. Is it a present? No, sorry, it's just a kitchen first aid kit, with handfulls of brightly colored bandaids and a lot of burn cream.]
no subject
[Rin starts digging in the box as Yukio asks him further questions] Yeah, but it isn't quite as strong or long-lived. Kind of like cooking with alcohol? I've been substituting them for yuzu or orange in citrus-y sauces. --oh neat! [Rin pulls out the bandaids and looks at them] This is for the kitchen, right? Sweeeet.
no subject
The kit is pretty well stocked, including the kitchen-specific supplies, so hopefully that will be right.]
Let me know if there are any other medical supplies you think the kitchen needs.
no subject
[the box looks awesome and complete, and Rin nods, setting it to one side]
If anything comes up, I'll let you know. Now... do I need my check-up? I'm ready, doc!
no subject
But kind of a real question.
Yukio pulls out the handwritten form for Rin to fill out, and hands it over to him on a clipboard. It's the typical "Name, date of birth, personal and family medical history" sort of thing.]
Fill this out and then I'll check your measurements.
[And he'll just let Rin concentrate on that for a couple minutes.]
no subject
Rin squints at the paper]
Man... do I really have to fill this out? You know all this!
no subject
Though, Yukio is explaining more and judging less than he would be if they were at home. Progress?]
no subject
"Family history" gets some snarky answers ("Well I'm Prince of Hell on my dad's side") and some things are left blank, but within about ten minutes, Rin manages to fill it out as much as he can]
Here. I wasn't sure what to put under medical history so I put that time that Angel cut off my foot and it grew back?
no subject
That counts. Do you have any changes beyond the obvious?
no subject
no subject
Put that away, nii-san.
no subject
You're the one who asked about any other changes!
